Bass: How to Catch Them

One of the “How to Catch Them” series of small, inexpensive books published in the 1950’s and 1960’s.  This one was published in 1955, and reprinted in later years.  Published in hardback with a dust wrapper.  96 pages with simple line drawings, which are rather crude by today’s standards.  Subjects covered are fish biology and behaviour, tackle, baits, methods, time and places to fish, and cookery.  There is a special chapter on school bass, and a list of catches above 12 lb.  This is a simple, straightforward “how to” book, a bit dated in parts but nevertheless contains plenty of snippets of good advice.  Out of print.  Not difficult to find as a reprint for a few pounds, but the first edition in a tidy dust wrapper is scarce.
